ChangJam is designed as a personal assistant inside LINE that remembers important things for you. We collect only the information needed for the service to work.
Who we are
ChangJam (“we”, “us”) is a personal-assistant service operated from Thailand, and is the data controller for your personal data. For any privacy question, to exercise your rights, or to request further details about the operator, contact us at hello@changjam.com.
Our principles
We do not sell your data.
We do not show advertising.
We do not use your messages to train LLM models.
We do not collect your phone number, email address, or legal name without permission.
We design the system to minimize user identification as much as possible while still allowing the service to work.
Information we collect
When you use ChangJam, we may collect the following information:
- Messages you send to ChangJam so the bot can understand and respond
- Reminders, to-dos, projects, short notes, and spending records you ask ChangJam to save
- Times related to those items, such as due dates, reminder times, or spending dates
- Personal settings, such as spending categories, shorthand terms you teach ChangJam, or how you prefer vague times like “morning” to be interpreted
- Your LINE display name only when LINE/LIFF provides it for display in My ChangJam
- Technical information needed for reliability, such as error logs, usage events, and reminder delivery status
Why we can use your data
Under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), we process your data to: (1) provide the service you asked for, such as saving and delivering your reminders (necessary to perform our service to you); (2) act on your consent, given when you accept our Terms and start using ChangJam; and (3) keep the service reliable and secure (our legitimate interest). You can withdraw consent anytime by deleting your data and stopping use.
Who processes your data
To run ChangJam, your data is handled by trusted providers acting on our behalf: LINE (messaging), our AI/LLM provider (to understand and respond to your messages), and cloud hosting and database providers. Some of these process or store data outside Thailand, including in the United States. Where data is transferred abroad, we rely on those providers’ security measures and contractual protections. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
Encryption and security
We use several security measures, including:
- Encrypting the LINE push ID with AES-256-GCM
- Using a one-way hash for the LINE user ID used to look up users
- Using HTTPS for data transmission
- Restricting access to the database and production systems
- Keeping logs in a way that aims to avoid direct identification
- Backing up data to reduce the risk of data loss
Use of LLMs
ChangJam may send your messages to an LLM provider so the system can understand your request and respond. We do not use your messages to train LLM models.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our production systems; copies in routine backups are overwritten as backups rotate (within about 30 days).
Your rights
Under the PDPA, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data and account
- Withdraw consent
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a portable export of your data
You can do most of this yourself in My ChangJam, or by contacting us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) if you believe we have not complied with the law.
Children
ChangJam is intended for users aged 20 or over. If you are under 20, please use it only with your parent or legal guardian’s consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children without appropriate consent.
Sensitive information
Please avoid sending special-category personal data. If you include such details in reminders or notes, you consent to us processing them solely to provide the service.
Cookies
My ChangJam uses a single secure session cookie to keep you signed in. We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. If a change is important, we will try to notify users through the website or LINE.
